Atlantis
The Forbidden Atlas, Plate III
Insula Perdita. The lost island. Plato described it in the Timaeus and the Critias: a city built in rings, land and water in turn, a temple at the heart and a canal cut straight to the open sea. Then the sea took it back.
This is the map someone drew before it did.
From the archives of the Cheekenbocker Museum. One of six recovered plates. The aged parchment and the odd engraver's slip are part of the find.
